Witches and wizards are a type of species in Deep-Sea Prisoner's works. There are currently 23 named witches. Each witch typically has their own theme or field of specialization.

Physical Characteristics

Witches have pointed ears and are often depicted with witch hats, along with a broom or staff.

Hierarchy

Most witches live within the Witch World, overseen by the Great Witch. Many known witches seem to inhabit the land, though it also appears they are free to go where they choose such as Wadanohara residing in the Blue Sea and Chlomaki in Ne-no-Kuni. Witches such as Starlit Night are a special case and do not reside in the witch realm.

Witches and wizards often have familiars working for them. Some examples include Moritsugu being the familiar to Bloody Mary and Merol working under Tetsuzora. A familiar is able to use some of their master's power when needed; this can be seen twice in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea where Chlomaki gives Lobco some of her blood to fight off the Totsusa Soldiers and later when Samekichi borrows some of Wadanohara's power to go after Syakesan near the end of the game. The process of becoming a witch's familiar depends on the individual.

Biology

Reproduction and Creation

Not much is known about the reproduction of witches. However, some cases of birthing can be seen in various circumstances. For instance, in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, it is shown Wadanohara, the daughter of a spirit and wizard, was born from an egg. Her son Minami was conceived naturally yet born from an egg in similar fashion.

• Deep-Sea Prisoner was considering drawing the story of her witch characters as a comic (like Seaside Dispatches) but also stated she might as well draw it as a Mini-Comic or doodle.
• All non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe are semi-immortal.
