Tarako (たらこ) is an octopus and a minor character in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. They are friendly with Wadanohara and her familiars.

- The etymology of Tarako's name is unknown, although there are several possibilities.
- If one were to remove the hiragana character ら (ra) from Tarako's name, the resulting text would be Tako (たこ, tako). Tako is the Japanese term for octopus.
- Tarako is also the name of a certain type of fish roe prevalent in Japanese cuisine. The kanji of Tarako (鱈子, Tarako) can be read and written in hiragana in the same way Tarako's name is.
- Tarako enjoys jazz and giving octokisses to their friends as a sign of friendship.
- They like tight spaces, which explains why they sleep in the bin rather than on the bed.
