Trivia

  • The etymology of Tarako's name is unknown, although there are several possibilities.
    • If one were to remove the hiragana character ら (ra) from Tarako's name, the resulting text would be Tako (たこ, tako). Tako is the Japanese term for octopus.
    • Tarako is also the name of a certain type of fish roe prevalent in Japanese cuisine. The kanji of Tarako (鱈子, Tarako) can be read and written in hiragana in the same way Tarako's name is.
  • Tarako enjoys jazz and giving octokisses to their friends as a sign of friendship.
  • They like tight spaces, which explains why they sleep in the bin rather than on the bed.
  • They hate scary dreams.
  • They are technically an adult, yet they occasionally wet the bed, which seems odd since they do not sleep on the bed.
  • Deep-Sea Prisoner uses them as a "logo" from time to time.
  • According to an old Sunahama log, they are the only character in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea that is under 100 years old.
  • In Chapter 14 of the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea manga, Tarako is seen to be skilled at doodling.
  • Tarako doesn't have a gender; they identify as "Tarako" in their bio.
