Nagi (なぎ) is a humanoid orca from Deep-Sea Prisoner's series Ice Scream. She is Takama's daughter and Idate's niece.
Physical Description[]
Nagi looks similar to Idate in terms of genetic appearance, such as the dorsal fin, tail, two white spots on the head, and a monochrome palette. She also has raceless white skin and light gray nails. Her eyes are black with white pupils. Her twin braids are dark gray. She has straight cut bangs as well. Her tail is light gray with white underneath.
Nagi wears a black sailor fuku with long-sleeves and thin white bow on her chest area. Underneath is a white turtleneck. Her dark gray skirt is pleaded and has a white petticoat. She wears white stockings and Mary Jane shoes as well. She is said to be flat-chested. [1]
Genderbend (AU)[]
In Nagi's male design, his hair is short with straight cuts. He still has the same color for his hair, except darker. His eyes remain the same - black with white pupils. Male Nagi is furthermore seen to wear a gakuran with two buttons on the ends of the sleeves, white collared shirt underneath, and black gloves.
Personality[]
Although not seen in many of Deep-Sea Prisoner's comics, the ones Nagi does appear in suggest she's very practical, although being treated like a child by her uncle Idate. She also seems to be envious of Rocma as she steals most of her uncle's attention. In recent updates of Deep-Sea Prisoner's third JUNK log, Nagi reveals a more violent personality by cutting off Idate's tail and eating it. She speaks in an elegant and refined manner as well. [2]
If one song could be applied to Nagi, Deep-Sea Prisoner would pick "Itadakimasu" by Japanese singer Yoeko Kurahashi. [3]
Background[]
Not much is currently known about Nagi's past.
Appearances[]
Upcoming Roles[]
- Ice Scream - Nagi will appear in Ice Scream, though her role is currently unknown.
- Oji-summer - Major character
Relationships[]
Relatives[]
Idate[]
Nagi is Idate's niece. Idate has known her since she was a baby and got to hold her [4] with her parent's permission. [5] Nowadays, he often takes Nagi out to go play. [6] Nagi loves her uncle a lot and uses a hyper respectful tone in addressing him, calling him "oji-sama." Idate refers to her by name. [7]
Nagi dislikes how Idate treats her like a child and his obsession with Rocma often shortens the time they spend together. [8] In several illustrations, she is depicted carrying out violent and possessive acts towards him, and he is shown to be terrified of her. It is unknown if these events take place in the current timeline or just hypothetical scenarios. Idate has no clue Nagi feels this way about him; he just sees her as an ordinary child and his niece. [9]
Takama[]
Takama is Nagi's father. He forbids her from getting close to Idate. The specific reasons as to why he does this have not yet been revealed, though it can be inferred this is because Idate might be a bad influence on her. The details of their relationship are currently unknown.
Unnamed Mother[]
Illustrations depict Nagi and her unnamed mother happy together. However, it was made clear in an artwork Nagi knows of her mother's dark side. [4]
Ice Scream Cast[]
Rocma[]
Nagi dislikes Rocma for stealing her uncle's attention. In an update, it is revealed she also wants to kill Rocma. This is likely because she does not appreciate how much attention Rocma receives from Idate despite the woman having no knowledge of Nagi's existence. [8]
Shirogane[]
Shirogane is an acquaintance of Nagi. They can be seen interacting in an illustration where Idate encourages her to give him a kick. Their relationship will be explored more in Ice Scream. [10]
Other Characters[]
Gris[]
Gris knows about Nagi and has even met her many times. [11] Not much else is currently known about their relationship.
Abilities[]
Natural Abilities[]
- Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Nagi cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [12]
- Animal Transformation - Being an orca, she is able to switch between a humanoid and animal form.
Trivia[]
- "Nagi" means "mowing down a foe." [13]
- Her name can also be derived from "Naginata," a weapon she was seen wielding in an artwork.
- Deep-Sea Prisoner would like to draw a future comic featuring Nagi and Idate. While Idate is sleeping, Nagi will pull his shirt down slightly and stare at him. [3]

“ | I won't let you go anywhere anymore. I won't let you escape. Won't you please always be with me? Uncle... That's why... I'll give you a body that won't let you run from me. Just like what mother did to father. |
