— Moge-ko, Mogeko Castle

Moge-ko (もげ子) is a major antagonist in Mogeko Castle. She is a humanoid version of a Mogeko who attempts to hunt Yonaka Kurai down following their first meeting on the fourth floor of the castle.

Physical Description

thumb

Moge-ko has light-toned skin, eyes with black irises and white pupils, and shoulder-length blonde hair with two large tufts on the top resembling Mogeko ears. Underneath her skirt, a long Mogeko tail protrudes.

She wears a black vest buttoned with brown buttons, a blood-red dress shirt cuffed with black, a black tie, a dark red pleated skirt, pink panties, and large black boots with a light brown button on the sides and red soles.

If enraged or excited, Moge-ko's eyes will reflect her demeanor; instead of her typical black with white pupils, she will instead have red with black cat-like pupils.

Personality

Moge-ko resembles a high school girl in appearance. She likes prosciutto, marshmallows, macaroons, and taking naps. However, in mannerism, she resembles a disturbed psychopath. Like most Mogeko, she is deeply perverted and has professed love for high school girls, said gender as a preference. [1] Beyond that, there is little connecting her to the rest of her species.

Most - if not all - Mogekos possess a deep terror for Moge-ko, even the creator of all Mogekos, King Mogeko. Though she is a Mogeko, Moge-ko is unrestrained in the sadism that she expresses towards members of her species. Prone to murdering other Mogekos using cleavers and other blades, she has earned herself a reputation for brutality.

Aside from murdering, she also likes to "toy" with anyone she dislikes - "toy" being in actuality, torture. Once done with torturing those who have crossed her path, she is known to crucify them upon blood-red crosses until they die. As mentioned by Defect Mogeko, Moge-ko enjoys cutting up and eating people, alluding to the possibility of cannibalism.

As stated in some notes found in the bonus room, Moge-ko has a thing for tails and thighs; this is said to be top-secret information. Implied by the bloody state of the notes, Moge-ko appears to have killed the informant.

In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Moge-ko is just a high school girl. [2]

Background

Moge-ko was created by the Mogeko. They created her with candy, tabasco, and other things to make “a perfect girl.” During the recipe, the Mogekos accidentally added concrete instead of candy. The accident resulted in Moge-ko, a psychopath with the appearance of a schoolgirl. [3]

In Mogeko Castle, Moge-ko hails the fourth floor of the castle and chases both Yonaka Kurai and Defect Mogeko in an attempt to kill them. Later on, she releases a Grotesque Mogeko from its cage to chase Yonaka. Despite her attempts to do so, Moge-ko does not accomplish in capturing Yonaka, except in one ending.

In General Hashasky's Great Adventure, Moge-ko abducts and spirits Mogekov Hashasky to Mogeko Castle, though the reason as to why is currently unknown.

Mogeko Castle Cast

Yonaka Kurai

Yonaka is chased by Moge-ko throughout the castle in an attempt for Moge-ko to capture and turn her into a plaything. They first met on the fourth floor of Mogeko Castle, right before Yonaka and Defect Mogeko took the elevator to the fifth floor. At first, Moge-ko puts a cute persona in front of Yonaka, making her think she is just a regular schoolgirl; this immediately changes when Moge-ko shows her violent and intimidating self and begins chasing Yonaka and Defect Mogeko.

Yonaka and Moge-ko’s first meeting

When Moge-ko does not succeed in capturing Yonaka and Defect Mogeko, she becomes irritated and releases a Mogeko monster from its cage to chase them. In the Toy ending, when Moge-ko does succeed in capturing them, she kills Defect Mogeko and nearly does the same to Yonaka before changing her mind deciding to make her a "toy" instead, torturing and abusing her until she dies.

When Yonaka becomes Lord Prosciutto in the Yonaka Castle ending, Moge-ko is forced to serve under her. One artwork depicts Moge-ko being leashed like an animal on the ground while Yonaka taunts her. A scene from the General Hashasky's Great Adventure trailer shows Yonaka using Moge-ko as a makeshift chair. The two also have a daughter together.

Moge-ko feels good when Yonaka strokes her tail. [4]

In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Yonaka trained Moge-ko to be her pet. [2]

Defect Mogeko

Defect Mogeko and Moge-ko are acquaintances. Prior to visiting the fourth floor of the castle with Yonaka, Defect Mogeko had never seen Moge-ko in person, though he thought of her as a "real scoundrel" and knew that she had unique ways of torturing her victims. When they met, Moge-ko chased both him and Yonaka to capture them. In the fourth bad ending, she manages to do so and kills Defect Mogeko.

King Mogeko

Like the rest of the Mogeko species, Moge-ko is one of the many denizens of King Mogeko's kingdom. Although, despite her status as being "below" King Mogeko, like most Mogekos within Mogeko Castle, King Mogeko fears Moge-ko's wrath and violence.

Pancetta

Pancetta and Moge-ko have appeared in a couple illustrations together. Their precise relationship is currently still unknown, but it seems Moge-ko feels annoyed by Pancetta's presence.

Moge-kov

Moge-kov and Moge-ko appear to be analogous to each other, both respectively being the humanoid versions of a Mogeko and Hashasky. They seem to know each other, though Moge-ko looks agitated whenever they meet. When asked if Moge-kov truly likes her in regards to this artwork, Deep-Sea Prisoner states, "It's a secret." [5] Moge-kov also prefers girls that are "like Moge-ko." [6]

Mogekov Hashasky

Mogekov Hashasky was kidnapped and spirited away to Mogeko Castle by Moge-ko, as shown in General Hashasky's Great Adventure.

Mogeko

Moge-ko is the ruler of the Mogekos on the fourth floor. The Mogekos are usually terrified of her due to her psychopathic behavior and often either end up dying as one of her "toys" to break or on a plate as food.

Mogeko Monster

Mogeko Monster is Mogeko's creation and pet. They were created by Moge-ko from Mogeko corpses, summoned by her to catch Defect Mogeko and Yonaka Kurai to kill and eat them. She protected herself and her pet using her shield ability when Defect Mogeko tried to attack them with a bazooka.

Various

Torimi

Moge-ko and Torimi appeared in an illustration together. They seem to know each other, though exact details of their relationships are currently unknown.

Abilities

Skillset

  • Weapon Proficiency - Moge-ko is often seen wielding her signature weapon, a knife with a twisted edge.
  • Torturing - She knows how and enjoys to torture those she deems befitting.

Natural Abilities

  • Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Moge-ko cannot die from aging. [5] However, like her brethren, she is susceptible to at least one deadly parasite.
  • Shield Creation - She has the ability to conjure up a shield sturdy enough to defend from rocket blasts.

Trivia

  • Most of the Mogeko have their names written in katakana (モゲコ), while Moge-ko's name is mostly written in hiragana (もげ子). However, it uses the kanji -ko (子), a common ending suffix used in female Japanese names. [7]
  • Although her name has a hyphen in it, there is no difference in the pronunciation of her name compared to other Mogekos, save for a slight intonation.
  • Moge-ko's origins are a parody of animator Craig McCracken's The Powerpuff Girls, in which the three eponymous heroines were created from "sugar, spice, and everything nice," but the accidental addition of a substance called Chemical X resulted in them having superpowers. Moge-ko was created from "candy, tabasco, and everything neat," but the accidental addition of concrete resulted in her becoming a psychopath.
  • Previously on Deep-Sea Prisoner's site, Moge-ko's character portrait was hidden in the character section. To access it, one would have to click on Nataka Kurokawa's portrait and click [← 戻] ("return") once. However, this method was not always feasible, and oftentimes the portrait could only be accessed via a direct link or on the second character page.
  • From 28 June to 3 August, 2017, Deep-Sea Prisoner hosted a popularity poll that let people vote on their three most favorite characters of hers. When the results came out on 7 September, 2017, Moge-ko was ranked 18th. [8]
  • For Halloween, Moge-ko would dress up as a jiangshi. [9]
