  • I believe someone took down a bunch of work that followed the guidelines! If we could discuss this in more detail I would love to. Please reach out when you get the time!!

    • Hello. Thank you for your reaching out!

I am aware of this happening as someone has brought up the concern of uploading sprites that were directly ripped from Ice Scream.

I would like to preface this: DSP has allowed us to reupload images. That is true, no doubt. However as we discussed about it in the wiki's Discord server, there is concerning doubt with regards to sprites, since these assets may not be accessed through normal means. I personally thought that it may be disrespectful towards DSP when we just give away all the assets for everyone to access which isn't the normal case. Now, I am fully aware of the pre-existing sprites before you uploaded the ones you added. With that however, we are now at a crossroads: to either actually upload sprites or not.

There is only one way to settle it, and it's to contact DSP herself. We have attempted to try and reach out to her and hope to get a response. The takedowns were done temporarily while we play the waiting game.

The worst case scenario is, of course, DSP not allowing us to have these sprites up, meaning we have to take ALL sprites down that directly came from the game files.

On the positive side, which is the thing we're hoping for, is the case where DSP does allow us to upload sprites. If this is the case however, we wanted Okegom Wiki to only host the base form of sprites, and the other wikis will host the detailed ones.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as well as the lack of transparency of the reason for the takedowns. I hope this clarifies it. If you have any other questions about the topic, please don't be hesitant to bring them up. Thank you!

  • Can I add Lowrie to the Animals category since he is not only a demon, but also a bird?

  • I am adding a Fandom University player to the Special:Community page to help out new or inexperienced editors on all wikis that are willing to accept it. You can see what it would look like on the Diablo Wiki. This is done with ImportJS and so can easily be removed at any time. Would you be ok with this addition here?

    • I've gone ahead and enabled it since I didn't hear back from you. If you decide you don't want it, just delete dev:FandomU.js from MediaWiki:ImportJS.

  • which is your favorite Deep-Sea Prisoner game?

      Loading editor
    • I'm quite undecided about this, but I would have to go for Mogeko Castle since that was the game that got me into this fandom.

  • Are we allowed to upload assets from the RPG 2003 version of Mogeko Castle? I've managed to rip some of them and I wanted to ask before doing anything, since I'm not sure if RPG Maker 2003 Mogeko Castle counts as deleted content or not.

    • Hello! For now, we're not going to allow ripped sprites from the old Mogeko Castle. It would probably be discouraging to DSP if we resurface these things that are obsolete.

    • Ah, alright! That makes sense. Thank you for your time!

  • I am not sure if you're still active or not but do you know whether if there're english translations for Wadanohara manga: Volume 3 and up?

      Loading editor
    • Hello there!

If I'm not mistaken, there are only two volumes of the manga. Volume 1 has been translated by DSP themselves while the Volume 2 is only localized in Japanese. There are no succeeding volumes.

        Loading editor
    • oh my mistake, I was confused over the volume thingie. Sadly there's no translation for the "Sea of Death" arc for now then.

      Thank you for the info~

  • There's some characters with bolded japanese names and some without- I know we we're going to have an agreement on which one all characters should have, based on what everyone thinks (?) sooooooooo, I wanted to know if we should hold a vote or smth on here? :0?

      Loading editor
    • Typically, you just have to bold the first word (or in this case, name). It's a common practice in journalism. Besides that, I actually prefer non-bolded Japanese names since users tend to just like to know the Romanized version of the characters' names more than their Japanese version.
