Maekami (前紙) is one of the supporting characters in Obsolete Dream. He is a demon bartender living in Ne-no-Kuni and runs his own bar.
Physical Description
Maekami has straight short white hair, gray paper taped over his face, and fair skin. Though his face has never been fully shown, it can be seen in one artwork he has dark blue eyes. His nails are black.
He wears a formal white shirt, black vest, and long black pants. His horns are black, and the left one has what appears to be white tape probably holding a broken part of his horn to the rest of it; same goes for his tail.
In images seeming to be him in the past, he has long hair tied back in a ponytail.
Personality
Maekami is shown acting very respectful in his appearances. He carries himself with calmness and offers advice to his customers with troubles. His personal pronoun in Japanese is "boku". [2]Maekami addresses the people he speaks to with the Japanese honorific "-san" (equivalent to "Sir" or "Miss" in English). [2] At first glance, he appears to be serious and sincere. [3] However, he makes one exception with this formality when it comes to Anten, whom he addresses with no honorific as a result of a grudge. [2] Maekami also seems to have a more violent side which comes out around Anten.
Background
Maekami used to work under Lil with Anten and Daimonji. At one point in the past, Maekami had his horn and tail damaged by Hanten, but holds Anten responsible for this. [4] The details surrounding this incident have yet to be revealed.

Relationships
Obsolete Dream Cast
Anten
Anten was Maekami's former colleague. Maekami has an extremely low opinion of him, comparing his snake form to a smear of filth on the ground after stabbing him. He thinks of Anten as "unreliable" and has no qualms about turning Anten into snake wine, as shown in chapter 8.5 of Obsolete Dream. Anten is furthermore the only character Maekami addresses with no Japanese honorific, indicating further disrespect.
Anten is also said to be the one ultimately responsible for Maekami's broken horn and tail despite Hanten apparently carrying out the physical deed. The details surrounding this incident have yet to be revealed.
Sullivan
Sullivan is one of Maekami's customers and acquaintance. They are on very friendly terms with Maekami attempting to cheer up Sullivan whenever matters with his daughter get to him, explaining she's merely being contrarian and will understand how he feels someday. He even informs Kurotsuno about his feelings and how much he misses her, showing he feels bad for Sullivan. When they were younger, Maekami would stop Sullivan and Gyakuten from fighting, as it was mostly Sullivan getting one-sidedly beaten up.
Hanten
Hanten is one of Maekami's customers. They seem to have a rough history, as there are several images in which Hanten is harassing and fighting him. Furthermore, in chapter 8 of Obsolete Dream, Anten says that Hanten was the one to damage (cut off) Maekami's horn and tail. Due to this, Maekami has stitches on his horn and tail. However, Maekami blames Anten for this incident; why that is the case has yet to be revealed. Despite his history with Hanten, Maekami remains cordial towards her and calls her reliable in the same chapter.
Kurotsuno
Kurotsuno is one of Maekami's customers. They seem to be on relatively friendly terms. Maekami occasionally inquires Kurotsuno of her relationship with her father, telling her how much Sullivan misses her, and asking if she feels sorry for her father. Kurotsuno does not like it when he asks about her father, but she does not get violent with him.
Gyakuten
Gyakuten is one of Maekami's customers. When they were younger, Maekami would step in and stop Gyakuten and Sullivan from fighting.

Lil was Maekami's former boss. It is currently unknown what his relationship with Lil was like or why he is no longer her subordinate.
