— Jiiya, Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea

Jiiya (じいや) is a supporting character in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. They are a servant of Uomihime and often speak in place of her.

Physical Description[]

Jiiya is a small light blue fish with big eyes sitting atop Uomihime's head.

Personality[]

In a large majority of Jiiya's appearances, they only speak for Uomihime. It can be said they are one of Uomihime's most loyal servants, as they appear to have been around serving her prior to the war with the Sea of Death. As stated in the physical copy of the manga, their favorite color is sea blue and their favorite food is the Sea Kingdom's specially made bitter tea. Their specialty is to be able to read Uomihime's mind.

Background[]

Jiiya served Uomihime before the war, possibly even before she ascended the throne. They continued to serve her after the war as well.

Uomihime[]

Uomihime is Jiiya's princess. Due to Uomihime's state of constant unconsciousness in order keep Mikotsuhime at bay, Jiiya speaks in place of their liege in the first part of the game. It seems Jiiya is the most loyal/longest-standing of Uomihime's servants, as they have been with her prior to the war between Uomihime and her sister.

Abilities[]

Natural Abilities[]

  • Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Jiiya cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [2]
  • Underwater Breathing - Being a fish, they can naturally breathe underwater.

Trivia[]

  • Jiiya's name means "retainer" or "old manservant" in Japanese, fittingly describing their position in the royal court of the Blue Sea Kingdom. [1]
    • During Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, Mikotsuhime's fish servant calls Jiiya "魚綿守" (Uowatamori), which appears to be their real name. [1]
