Helica (ヘリカ) is a minor character in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. She is a humanoid Venus comb murex and member of Uomihime's court.
Physical Description[]
Helica has raceless white skin and grayish green colored hair held in pigtails by dark green venus comb shell bands. Her eyes are green with white pupils. Helica's pupils have been known to turn black when she is enraged.
Helica wears a cactus green dress with white cuffs at the wrists, white collar, and white middle piece lined with eight dark green buttons. The bottom part of her dress is a mixture of cactus green, pale green, and white. She also wears cactus green knee-high boots, each with six buttons on a white cuff at the top, similar to the middle piece of her dress. Underneath are dark green leggings. Helica often carries a dark green drill-like shell as a weapon, which covers her hand as well.
Personality[]
Helica is rather hot-headed. She is prone to becoming enraged easily, especially when drunk; when she becomes intoxicated, she loses the ability to differentiate friend from foe. Prone to easy drunkenness, Helica will visibly blush and become quite loud.
Helica also resents the Totsusa Soldiers to the point she goes into a state of madness. To return to her normal self, she must be drained of energy. This trait only worsens when she has ingested alcohol. Despite her shortcomings, however, she has a strong sense of justice and is loyal to her liege Uomihime.
Helica enjoys looking at picture books, playing Othello, and dislikes sour persimmons. Her favorite color is white. [1] Her specialty is performing sudden attacks. [1] Her favorite food is rice crackers and dumplings. [1]
Background[]
Sometime in the past, Helica became part of Uomihime's court. Furthermore, in parts of the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea game, Helica mentions not knowing the surface, which might imply she has never left the sea. Not much else is currently known about her past.

Relationships[]
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea Cast[]
Pulmo[]
Pulmo is Helica's love-interest and co-worker in Uomihime's court. In the manga, in celebration of Wadanohara's successful repairs of the barrier stones, a banquet was held within the Sea God Castle. After getting drunk during the festivities, Helica grabbed ahold of Pulmo and kissed her. Later, in an omake (extra mini-comic) found in the back of the manga, Pulmo made hand puppets of herself and Helica kiss and teased Helica over this. This prompted Helica to kiss her again. In another omake found in the Sea of Death arc, Helica wondered what could be underneath Pulmo's skirt after looking at non-humanoid jellyfish. She lifted Pulmo's skirt up to see, which prompted Pulmo to hit her in response. However, Helica said it did not hurt.
In a section of the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea game, Helica and Pulmo could be found in Deepsea Town together. Helica was exercising, claiming her body would rust otherwise, to which Pulmo commented she was dumber than she thought.
Seguro[]
Seguro and Helica are close friends with each other, as well as Miyura. They are seen together often, both referred to as "squeezes" (senpai) by Miyura. When blinded by rage at the sight of her enemies, Seguro is one of the few who attempts to calm her down. Knowing Helica is a lightweight drinker and becomes boisterous when drunk, Seguro expresses concern over her drinking but appears to drink with her regardless.
Miyura[]

Miyura and Helica are close friends, the former referring to Helica as her "senpai." Helica is known to yell at Miyura because of her clumsy behavior. Miyura is seen worriedly looking for Helica when Wadanohara first comes across her. When Helica goes on a rampage, Miyura nervously tries to calm her down. Miyura can be seen giving Helica a ride while Wadanohara travels to Hydrangea Isle. Miyura comments about being crushed by Helica's weight.

Wadanohara is one of Helica's friends. Wadanohara tried to calm Helica down when she was on a rampage and Helica then fought her and her familiars. When she calmed down she became glad Wadanohara was there. Helica thinks of Wadanohara as their biggest hope. [2]
Uomihime[]
- This section is incomplete. You can help improve this article by expanding it.
Uomihime is Helica's master. Helica is very loyal to Uomihime, though they are not seen together often.
Tatsumiya[]
Tatsumiya is Helica's co-employee of Uomihime's court. They are on good terms. In a bonus video, Pulmo asks Tatsumiya for help with a Helica rampage. Tatsumiya seemed unfazed by this as this seems to be a common occurrence. The two appear to work well together and are cordial with each other. Upon discovering Tatsumiya's interest in Idate, Helica contemplates how she does not understand Tatsumiya's preferences.
Syakesan[]
Syakesan was Helica's former co-employee of Uomihime's court. In the manga, Helica was enraged about the Totsusa attack. Syakesan tried to calm her down, but she hit him on the nose, yelling and offended he was not mad too. Syakesan briefly appeared later with a bandage on his nose because of this. When Helica kissed Pulmo in a drunken state, Syakesan looked at them confused.
After the reveal of Syakesan's true nature, he became Helica's enemy.
Artamos, Totsusahime, & Totsusa Soldiers[]
Artamos, Totsusahime, and the Totsusa Soldiers are enemies to Helica. She is blinded by rage upon seeing the Totsusa Soldiers; this only worsens once she ingests alcohol. Due to this, Helica must be drained of energy in order to return to her normal self. In the later half of the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea game, Totsusahime, Artamos, Hofuru and the Totsusa Soldiers are shown protecting Helica, Miyura, Seguro, and Pulmo from the Sea of Death's inhabitants.
Abilities[]
Natural Abilities[]
- Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Helica cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [3]
- Animal Transformation - Being a Venus comb murex, she is able to switch between a humanoid and animal form.
- Underwater Breathing - Being a Venus comb murex, she can naturally breathe underwater.
Battle Statistics[]
Trivia[]
- Helica's name may be a portmanteau of the words helix [4] (a spiral form or structure) and mollusca (the phylum of which a snail belongs to.)
