Genderbend (AU) is an alternate universe (AU) of Deep-Sea Prisoner's characters as the opposite sex.

Information

Characters in the Genderbend AU tend to display different personalities in comparison to their original counterpart, but this is not the case for every character. In the case of same-sex couples for instance, (such as Female Sherbet and Female Yosaflame), their couple dynamic does not change. Furthermore, Deep-Sea Prisoner has explained that the genderbend versions of characters can drastically change a story.

Genderbend characters also make appearances in some games created by Deep-Sea Prisoner. Garden Gray The is a spin-off game of the original The Gray Garden that features part of the main The Gray Garden cast with swapped genders. An upcoming game by Deep-Sea Prisoner titled Devil Girl Ivlin also features two genderbend characters, them being Ivlin and Satanica, Ivlis and Satanick's female counterparts.

For a character from a species that can change their gender at will, such as demons, their genderbend will be regarded and treated the same as they are originally. Conversely, a character who is genderbend from a species that can not genderbend at will is treated differently because the setting of such would take place in a world where everyone's gender is reversed. It is only possible for a species that cannot genderbend to do so with magic or magical potions. Even characters who are not devils, such as humans or animals, can genderbend because they are dexterous with magic.

Differences from Canon

• Alela is said to be rebellious.
• Grora and Wodahs' genderbend counterparts will often get into fights. Their arguments are described to resemble that of a married couple. Alela will also sexually harass Wodahs.
• Alela and Yosafire's male counterpart often talk about pornographic topics with one another.
• Etihw's masculine counterpart is said to cause a lot of mischief.
• Wodahs' female counterpart is said to be level-headed, serious, and a doting older sister.
• Unlike Ivlis, Ivlin seldom gets depressed. She is more expressive than Ivlis, who always stays pretty expressionless, and has more energy than him.
• Macaroni has a somewhat "disagreeable" personality.
• Satanick and Fumus' genderbend versions have quite a different relationship compared to their male counterparts. While they still have physical relations with one another, they are on good terms.
• Satanica is said to have a strong mental state unlike Satanick. She is not "menhera" like Satanick is.
• Wadanohara's male counterpart is "perhaps" less pure than regular Wadanohara.
• Samemi does not differ much from regular Samekichi in terms of personality.
• Rock's female counterpart has a tattoo while his regular version does not.
• Fumus' female counterpart, also named Fumus, is not brutal in the same way as male Fumus; rather, she is sadistic "like a sadomasochism club queen." Her style of dress is a giveaway to her personality and akin to her motif. Deep-Sea Prisoner went on to describe her as a "sexy older sister."
• Satanica and Ivlin are girlfriends. They are on good terms.
• Syakeko will try to sleep with male Wadanohara but fail because he is uninterested. All the while, Wadanohara will ask Samemi for help. Fumika will then punish Syakeko for her actions.
• In contrast to the original story in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, the Blue Sea and Sea of Death are reconciled. Male Wadanohara would hold Mikotsuhime's hand and make a truce, stating, "It's not good to fight among brothers. Let's get along!"
• Though they have a strained relationship between their original versions, Shirogane and Rocma's female and male counterparts appear to be on better terms. Rocma can be seen carrying Shirogane in one artwork.
• Lobco's genderbend version Lobo is taller than Roc Hijoushiki's genderbend.
• Wadanohara does not know the genderbend spell and would not think of using it. If she learns the spell, she will have no problem using it.
• Roc is able to genderbend himself, but he does not want to. If he ever was transformed, it was because of a potion used on him.
• Red Wadanohara will gladly use her magic to genderbend and use it on Syakesan until he cannot stand.

• If Satanica started a YouTube channel, she would "probably get instantly banned for streaming extreme (sexual) content."
• If Ivlin started a YouTube channel, she would be sent a lot of sexual harassment comments.
• Fumus' female counterpart wears a black thong.
• Satanica wears all sorts of panties, from lace and frilly to stripes and polka dots. "She pays attention to fashion, even when it comes to panties."
• Adauchi's female counterpart would be named "Adauchi-chan."
• Poemi's male counterpart would be named "Poemu-kun."
• Licorice's female counterpart would be named "Licorin."
• Yukisada's female counterpart would be named "Yukiko."
• All of Satanick's Subordinates have genderbend versions which will be drawn sometime in the future.
• Victor's female counterpart would be named "Victoria."
• Idate's female counterpart wears a black thong.
• Liliya's genderbend is also named "Liliya."
• Lobco’s male counterpart would be named Lobo.
• Yagi's female counterpart would be 2 meters (199cm (≈6'5")) tall.
• Licorin dislikes Satanica and likes Ivlin. Her bust size is somewhere between both of her parents.
• Genderbend Takama's appearance would be reminiscent of a Yakuza's wife.
• Ivlin and Satanica love each other.
• Regarding an illustration of female Shirogane being carried by male Rocma, Deep-Sea Prisoner leaves it to the viewer's interpretation on whether Shirogane likes Rocma or is embarrassed about being carried by him.
• Satanica and Ivlin have Licorin (Licorice's genderbend version) the same way they do in the original story. How this happened is "left to the imagination."
• Shinya Kurai's and Yonaka Kurai's genderbend names would remain the same.
• Genderbend Idate, Envi, and Fumus have large breasts.
• Genderbend Shirogane has average sized breasts.
