Big Five

The Big Five is a group in the Deep-Sea Universe consisting of five members. Not much else is currently known about the group or their functions.

Etymology

The Big Five are named after the five major extinction events occurring on planet Earth, likewise nicknamed the "Big Five." The order the members of the Big Five are sorted in, in their reveal image, is the chronological order of the periods they are named after.

More Ordovices is named after the Late Ordovician mass extinction, the first major extinction period which took place around 440 million years ago. Tao Devon is named after the Late Devonian extinction, the second major extinction period which took place around 365 million years ago. Erebos Perm is named after the Permian–Triassic extinction event, the third major extinction period which took place around 250 million years ago. Eden Trias is named after the Triassic–Jurassic extinction event, the fourth major extinction period which took place around 210 million years ago. Yomino Hakua is named after the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, the fifth major extinction period which took place around 65 million years ago (in Japanese, the Cretaceous period is called Hakua period (白亜紀)).

The heights of the Big Five members correspond to the size of their respective extinctions. For instance, Erebos Perm is the tallest member and corresponds to the largest extinction. Tao Devon is the shortest member and corresponds to the smallest extinction, and so forth.

History

The members of the Big Five were created by The Reminiscences of Star. For unknown reasons, More Ordovices lives on his own. It is currently unknown whether the rest of the group lives separately.

• The Big Five were first revealed via Twitter on the 7th of April, 2022.
• The Big Five have their own category on the funamusea.com character hierarchy page. It was previously indicated by a pentagram ().
• Each member of the Big Five seems to have their own designated color. More Ordovices has red, Tao Devon has blue, Erebos Perm has purple, Eden Trias has gray/silver, and Yomino Hakua has yellow/gold.
