Anten (暗転) is a supporting character in Obsolete Dream. He is a demon with an uncanny likeliness to Hanten, though their relation is unknown.
Physical Description[]
Anten has fair skin, red eyes, messy slate-gray hair tied into a ponytail, curly black horns, a long curly tail, and pitch-black hands with white nails. It is also seen his neck has stitch marks on it, presumably from the aftermath of being decapitated by Taffy. He wears a black suit with a white dress shirt, black tie in a half-Windsor knot, and black dress shoes.
He can shapeshift into a pitch-black snake with the same stitch marks near the head. Oftentimes, he hides in his snake form as Hanten’s shadow.
Personality[]
Anten is said to be the worst troublemaker, trickster, [2] and a "pitiful" and weak guy. [3] He uses the personal pronoun "ore" to refer to himself. [4] [5] He also uses "omae" and "koitsu" to refer to others, which are both considered to be very rude. [5] Deep-Sea Prisoner stated if he had not been around, a countless number of terrible situations could have been avoided. [2] Whether intentionally or not, his behavior has earned him the resentment of people everywhere. [2]
Background[]
Anten’s backstory is hinted at in Obsolete Dream chapter 6, where he is shown in a flashback waking up crucified and severely injured surrounded by angels smiling at him. Initially believing he was dreaming, he later realized he was not and mentioned being defeated. Anten also once served as a subordinate of Lil alongside Maekami and Daimonji. However, it is currently unknown when exactly these events took place. In Obsolete Dream chapter 8, Maekami blames Anten for the supposed incident that caused him to injure his horn and tail, though it is also unknown when this exactly happened.
In the present day, Anten lives in Kurotsuno's Mansion, but is not an apparent housemate. He is usually seen hiding in Hanten's presence.

Relationships[]
Subordinates[]
Candla[]
Candla is Anten's familiar. [6] They were seen together in an artwork. Not much else is currently known about their relationship.
Obsolete Dream Cast[]
Hanten[]
Hanten and Anten bear an uncanny resemblance to one another, but why they share this fundamental connection has yet to be revealed. It has been strongly implied they are not blood-related. [7]
They furthermore seem to get along fine. Anten is sometimes seen in Hanten's presence, hiding in her coat as his snake form. It has also been shown in multiple instances he can hide in her shadow. In chapter 4 of Obsolete Dream, both observe Kurotsuno's violent exchange with Sullivan and comment on it. Later in chapter 5 when Hanten tells Sullivan, "If you keep hesitating...[Kurotsuno] really IS gonna hate you", Anten replies she could not have said it better.
Though Anten and Hanten get along well, in chapter 8.5 while Kurotsuno was taking a bath, Anten abruptly emerges out of the water after a nap and fancies Kurotsuno being there. Hanten then barges into the washroom, grabs Anten by the neck, completely ignoring any reasons he gave for being there, and cuts him to the pulp. This shows Hanten is not always merciful to him.
In battle, Roc uses Anten as a weapon to attack the angels from Kumo-no-Kuni. [8] Roc grabs him roughly by the leg and swings him full out like a bat at their enemy Taffy. Anten hates Roc because he does this incessantly. [8]
Maekami[]
Maekami is Anten's former colleague. Maekami has an extremely low opinion of him, comparing his snake form to a smear of filth on the ground after stabbing him. He also thinks of Anten as "unreliable" and has no qualms about turning Anten into snake wine, as shown in chapter 8.5 of Obsolete Dream.
Anten is said to be the one ultimately responsible for Maekami's broken horn and tail, despite Hanten carrying out the physical deed as well. [7] The details surrounding this incident have yet to be revealed.
Lil's Subordinates[]
Daimonji[]
Daimonji is Anten's former colleague. Not much else is currently known about their relationship.
Satanick's Subordinates[]
Roc Hijoushiki[]
Roc and Anten get along extremely poorly. [2] The context of their relationship is unclear, although Anten has been shown several times trying to run away or hide from Roc, who wants to hunt him down and expresses sadistic amusement at Anten's peril. In one illustration, Anten is hiding behind a bush from Roc, who calls him a monkey and gleefully threatens him with a large bomb. Anten is also often chased by Roc. [9] Roc enjoys slowly hunting him as it is a fun game, although he already knows where Anten is. [10]
Fumus' Subordinates[]
Taffy[]
Taffy and Anten are sworn enemies. [9] Taffy hates Anten to an absurd degree. [2] He once decapitated Anten and literally served his head on a silver platter as seen in an illustration; the reason why is currently unknown.
Various[]
Lil[]
Lil is Anten's former boss. It is currently unknown what their relationship is like or why he is no longer her subordinate.

Natural Abilities[]
- Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Being a demon, Anten cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [11] [12]
- Regenerative Healing Factor - Being a demon, he is able to regenerate body parts, even guts and bones. [13]
- Ambidexterity - He is naturally ambidextrous. [14]
